STRAWBERRY JAM

Strawberry is one of my favorite fruits ;  I can eat it everyday (lol) . This Strawberry Jam is so delicious and easy to make .  it’s an healthier and cheaper alternation to commercial Jam .

Ingredients :

2 packs of strawberries

  •  600g Sugar
  • Half of a lemon juice
  • Butter

Instructions

 Step 1

STEP 1

In a large bowl, alternate the layers of sugar with the washed strawberries . Add the juice of a small lemon, which will bring out the fragrance of the fruit, and let it stand for 12 hours, covered with a damp cloth or an aluminum foil .Be careful to choose fruits not too ripe (the jam would not take well) nor too  green (they lack taste) .

Using a strainer, filter the strawberry syrup that will appear after the 12 hours of rest. Put the syrup in a deep saucepan and bring to the boil over a high heat for about ten minutes. During cooking, consider regularly skimming to remove the foam that forms on the surface.

Step 3

Add the strawberries to the pan (I smashed them a little) , and cook for 20-30 minutes . Add a small nut of butter at the end of the  cooking time It  will cause the foam to dissolve.

Allow the jam to cool, then fill it in a sterilized jar.
