HIBISCUS POPSICLES

With earlier sunsets, plenty of snow and ice, winters in Chicago are super enduring .This weather is not for the faint of heart.

During winter days I feel more gloomy and my mood shift . Winter blues amplified my sweet tooth cravings. I’m craving ice cream , popsicle , and candies. Any sweets you can imagine … I’m craving it :).

Taking the healthier route with this delicious hibiscus popsicle was a better option.There are so many delicious ways to explore these exotic flowers. I usually boil the flowers to drink it has a hot tea but this time I decided to make it more fun with popsicles .

Plus, what’s better way to heal my winter blues than an ice-cold hibiscus popsicle full of healthy benefits like vitamine C.

INGREDIENTS

2 ounces dried hibiscus flowers

2 quarts water

2 cups organic brown sugar

1 orange

fresh mint leaves

Vanilla arômes

PREPARATION

In a pot bring the water to a boil. Add the hibiscus flowers,cut orange,mint leaves and let it boil for 15 minutes.Turn off heat and stir in sugar and vanilla arôme until dissolved. Let hibiscus mixture cool for one hour.

Pour liquid into the pop molds and allow 8-12 hours for freezing .
